DESCRIPTION:Announcement of Scholarship Award: Gates County Community Partnership (GCCP) is a 501(c)3 public charity whose mission is to inspire and increase community engagement by the citizens of Gates County for the educational and social development of its youth. The purpose of this scholarship is to fund the first year of tuition for a 2022 Gates County High School graduate using the North Carolina (NC) Promise Tuition Plan at Elizabeth City State University\, Fayetteville State University\, Western Carolina University\, or the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. \nDeadline: Applications must be returned to gatescountycp@gmail.com by Friday\, April 29\, 2022. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. SUMMARY:Project GAP Residential Summer Camp for Ages 18 - 24 - ECSU
DESCRIPTION:Project GAP provides educational and supportive services that target young adults ages 18-24. \n  \nAn overnight camp for 18–24-year-old youth will take place from July 12th-14th. The focus will be on career assessment\, career planning and job seeking skills. To qualify\, you must first complete the application for enrollment into Project GAP. The link is the following: \n  \nhttps://ecsu.iad1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eR8OQngrq7woldr \n  \nProject GAP elements include a short-term\, on-campus residential experience where participants will receive academic and vocational assessments followed by educational remediation\, hands-on training\, career counseling\, industry tours\, employer recruitment and job placement. Participants will also have access to a comprehensive system of supports provided during program participation and after program completion.

DESCRIPTION:National Summer Transportation Institute Summer Camp – High School – (FREE) \n(For Rising 10 – 12 Grades) \nJune 21 – July 17 at Elizabeth City State University \nThe STI program (Non-Residential) at ECSU is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and is in its 22nd year. The goal of the program is to expose high school students to careers in transportation and how STEM training is the key to obtain theses careers. \nThe four-week program covers topics in physics\, electronics\, programming\, computer-aided-design\, and mathematics.
